If you are a fan of the old Marvel comic book heroes, you will love this Blade themed progressive jackpot slot from Cryptologic. For those of us old enough to remember his original comic book incarnation, Blade was the tough talking British half-vampire; later immortalised in film by Wesley Snipes and given a new American persona.

Blade is one of the Marvel Hero slot series, which each feature 3 different slots jackpots – the Hero jackpot, The Superhero Jackpot and the Marvel Hero jackpot. All the jackpots are triggered at random, so they can be won by any player at any time, regardless of bet size or coin value. The slot can be played in denominations between 5 cents and $5, so with all 9 pay lines in play, the slot has a minimum bet of 45 cents and a maximum bet of $45.

The Blade symbol is wild and substitutes for all other symbols apart from the scattered Blade logo. Five blade symbols pay a maximum prize of 8000 coins, whereas 4 pay 1000, 3 pay 150 and 2 pay 10 coins. If vampires should appear on reels 1 and 5 with a blade symbol on reel 3, the re-spin bonus round is triggered.

During the re-spin bonus round, the blade symbol expands to cover the whole of reel 3. Therefore the reel is effectively wild which greatly increases your chance of winning big prizes. The other reels spin a total of 5 times whilst reel 3 is held. During this round, the vampire symbol also turns into a wild blade symbol, again greatly multiplying your chances of hitting it big.

The silver blade logo is the scatter symbol and all scatter wins are multiplied by the total credits staked. The scatter bonus pays out when 2 or more blade logos appear anywhere on the reels, and returns your bet when 2 logos are present, pays 5 times your bet for 3 logos, 20 times your bet for 4 and 50 times your total bet when 5 blade logos appear.

The progressive jackpots start at $50 for the Hero Jackpot, $500 for the Super Hero jackpot and $5000 for the Marvel Hero jackpot. The progressive jackpots are shared amongst all the slots in the Marvel Series, which includes Blade, Daredevil, Elektra, Ghostrider, Iron Man, SilverSurfer, The Hulk, The Punisher, Thor and X-Men.
